Report
AXIS is committed to protect members, staff, volunteers and target groups of AXIS and partner organisations
The whistleblower mechanism has been set up to address concerns about illegal, immoral or irresponsible behaviour or actions regarding AXIS’ programmes. These can be, but are not limited to, financial crime, sexual harassment, or exploitation.
The whistleblower mechanism can be utilised by individuals or organisations.
The aim of the mechanism is to create accountability and solve conflicts in a fair manner. The complaint mechanism allows AXIS to identify potential structural issues and thus put systems in place to address these.
What happens when you write a complaint?
When filing a complaint, two board elected representatives will receive your complaint. Neither secretariat, board nor partners will receive your report and it will be treated confidentially. We ask you to be as specific as possible in your complaint.
We accept anonymous complaints. Properly addressing complaints, and creating accountability systems for you, however, is hard without ways of contacting you. We ask that you leave an email address for us to contact you.
Your complaint will be handled as close to the incident as possible. The process of the investigation of the concern/complaint will be known to the person complaining if contact details have been given. Likewise, the outcome and recommendations from the safeguarding focal point will be made available to the complainant.
The concern and complaint will be filed in a secure place by the safeguarding focal point and be deleted after no more than 3 years or at the end of the program (whichever comes last) or no more than 2 years after the end of the employment/coordinator contract (whichever comes first).
